Stormy Day!

This is the Amy Butler quilt pattern I have been alluding to lately. Amy has a lot of free patterns on her website: notebook covers, yoga bags, quilts, pillows and other stuff. Lots of photos in the "Inspirations" section, just in case you can't figure out what to do with her fabrics.

Sunday we took Bhu for an official debut walk in the park. As soon as we got to the nature trail entrance, the mayor came up with his new puppy and was very curious. We didn't get 50 feet when we came upon two moms and their kids in the playground area and they were also curious. At that point, Bhu started complaining loudly "Me want HOME NOW!" He is getting used to it, though, and we often find him sleeping in it.

What the HAIL?????

Okay, this is what my daffodils looked like this morning. There are similar clusters of daffodils all over the yard and they are so pretty. Something told me to take photos this morning before I went to work. These guys need to be dug up and separated this summer so the blooms will be bigger next summer. BUT, here's what happened five minutes ago:

Looks like snow, but it's pea-sized hail! About an inch of it! Can't imagine what the daffodils must look like now. It's ALWAYS SOMTHIN' around here!!! Yikes!
But I did get a couple of packages yesterday! Midwest Modern fat quarters (18 are still on back-order) and half-yards of Posh. WHEEEEEEE! Betty Dippi sent me an Amy Butler quilt pattern she found in a magazine and I think it's very timely! I'm going to start working on that this weekend while I'm finishing up Kyle's quilt. I really need a break from black & blue, so I'll do the Amy blocks as thread-savers. I'm not a big the-person Amy fan, but I do like the fabrics and I think I'm really lucky to have so many of the original Charm prints -- stuff that is now out of print.

Don't tell Bhu, but Goma now has GomaCam! Also, you've GOT to watch Goma eat his birthday cake!! TOO CUTE! Love you GOMA!

The Sun! The Sun!

On the final working day of Spring Break, there are approximately 32,144 available parking spaces on campus. So, C'MON DOWN!

Amy Butler Midwest Modern news: I visited just about every site I could find, bargain hunting fat quarter bundles and found that www.homesteadhearth.com has the most economical offer (38 fqs for $85.50 plus $7 shipping est).

Ready for the weekend? ME TOO! xxoo p

Some Girls

Sadly, today is Megan's last day of employment here at the college of wage slavery. She's a bright spirit, full of joy and promise. I will miss her, but I'll be seeing her around. She is, after all, my headband, apron and handbag muse! Here is Buddha "christening" the apron I made for her (Amy Butler fabric). I imagine many fragrant, chunky apple pies fresh from the oven when I look at this photo. Megan will thrive wherever she goes!
