Happy 2nd Purrthday, Goma!

We LUV Goma and Sachie and we hope you will go to My Cat Goma and wish him a happy day! Sachie has a really neat give-away to celebrate Goma's special day: a t-shirt of her own design. It's pretty cool!

Springaling

These are the days when we sometimes have a 40 to 50 degree change in temperatures within twenty-four hours. We're expecting our second of the week tonight. But the Farmer's Market is open and I will take you there this weekend. It's Spring Break and rather desolate on campus, but I like it.

Wings 'n Whiskas!

ChChChChanges . . .

Obviously, the title refers to the time change today, not Bhu's lifestyle! The kitteh is exhaustingly involved in a variety of relaxation techniques I wish I could adopt in my own life!! Of course, one of these is jumping on top of me at 2 am for a few head scritches. Yes, and he first yowls and, if no response, he licks my hand and, if no response, he climbs on my torso and works his way up to my ears and tickles me with his whiskers. He will NOT BE IGNORED! So, I am one person who can actually answer the question: Why was I born? A: To pet Bhu in the middle of the night! LOL

Lots of other things are going on, like my feetz is failing me. So much pain from so many ailments . . . makes life rough, but I'll get used to it. We are having such warm, warm weather this week -- in the 70's. In early March? Hmmmm. I am really busy at work when no one else has much to do.

Remember last summer when I told you Megan had a secret? Well, she was born Thursday: Iris Luella. Of course, I had nothing to do with it but am, nevertheless, thrilled! All my friends and relatives have boys and there's nothing wrong with that except that I like to make clothing and quilts for babies and I'm SICK AND TIRED OF BLUE! So, thank you Megan! xxoo

Okay . . .

Ain't he purrity? This is "Bhu the Colorful Cat" by Ann of Zoolatry. She is so talented and so generous! Bhu sez: "Me laiks Maggy an' Zooey, too! They iz so FLOOFY!"

There are a few things that you always worry about and hope will never happen. For me, those things ALWAYS happen at 5 o'clock on Friday or two in the morning, ya know? Like, for instance, coming home after working all week and finding that your water heater has sprung a leak! Lovely: No hot water for the weekend! Sabryin and I have opted to take vacation Monday and we were planning to relax and have fun, but I guess that's not gonna happen. Now I have 48 hours to decide if I want to get a tankless water heater. If you know anything about them, pro or con, leave a comment.

Unfortunately, I have about four loads of laundry to do; fortunately, I always use cold water. Unfortunately, we got snow last night; fortunately, only a little. Unfortunately, it's very windy today; fortunately, the temperature is over 32 and the sun is shining. Unfortunately, Bhu still has fleas. xxoo Patty

Floofy February!

This is a good way to start the month, in a sunny room with a big floofy kitteh in a big floofy chair! Unfortunately, I am having a killer gout attack and IT HURTS!! Bhu sez "pet mai belleh mommy. Me purrz an makes U feelz better!" Well, that's true; it always works Bhu.

Today I am dreaming of tulips, hyacinths and daffodils. I've got them all planted in pots and ready to put in their spots in the window box and on the porch. My seed order is ready to submit. Bhu, do you want me to order 'nip for you?? zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Cat Purrezident Elections

Bhu is very confused about this election. He LUVS Sweet Praline and agrees that compulsory pampering is, indeed, a good thing for all kittehs! But he also thinks that Maggy's platform is a good one. Sweet P has all the experience, whereas Maggy is much younger and less experienced, although she has caught our eye with her Floof-atude!

Stalker Bhu

Bhu likes to get in this box and watch me while I'm at the computer. He likes hiding behind the paper and then all I can see are his little blue eyes.

Pretty exciting! Don't you get bored watching me? I mean, I hardly move except for my hands.

Today I am very unhappy, worrying about retirement, employment, health, lack of wealth, and about the schlep I have become. I've gone beyond being angry about my circumstances to utter self-loathing. And now I must do laundry, go to grocery store, and try to find a healthier food for Bhu.

A brief commentary about the plane landing on the Hudson River: YAY Gray Hair Pilot!! He had only a few seconds to make a decision (crash here, crash there, possibly land here) and he chose to make a rescue possible. YAY New Jersey transit ferry captains who were on the scene first, followed rapidly by all the little tugs, who started the rescue immediately. Never underestimate the capacity for Heroism that lurks in the hearts of Noo Yawkas and Joisey guys! Proud of you! xxoo Patty

The Creek Cats Got MeMe!

Sixth folder, sixth photo: very bad camera work, but a lovely memory. Sabryin is holding Bhu next to a vase that was made especially for me by Jane Moore of Jerome, AZ(see link in sidebar). That's Bhu's image on the vase. It was my birthday some years ago. I love this vase because it is very heavy and Bhu cannot knock it over.

Now I'm supposed to tag others to do the same. Let's see, who will I choose?
