Schpring!

Magnolia blossoms do not last long enough . . . which is why it is important to linger when they bloom. Stand close by and breath deeply . . . touch the petals and enjoy the smooth coolness . . . revel in the color! Before they bloom, the buds are big, furry things that remind me of this:

THe Magnolias are beautiful. Your paws are a good example of the bud size!

Magnolia blossoms are beautiful but not as beautiful as you, Uncle Bhu.

Mom misses seeing magnolia blossoms. We don't see many of the signs of spring here in Florida.

I was so excited about spring things blooming too! Iris and I planted like 100 bulbs and ONE came up. one. Wish I had a magnolia tree to make me feel better! :)

Oh dear Bhu, you have made me so nostalgic today. One thing I truly miss about my old home is the 50 year old Magnolia in the back yard. It's branches almost touched the ground, and it was such a favorite. Cruel nature would usually drop the temperatures within days of the blossoms erupting in their beauty, and we would be left with brown, wilted flowers. So sad for such beauty to be so fleeting. Now your beauty, however is another thing. PSS, Bhu: Please ask your dear Mama just where she got that bunny fabric and ask (tell) her to send some ASAP to Aunt Nancy! Love to you, dear boy.

Bhu, is this a southern magnolia such as grow in Virginia, or would it be the kind I had back in Bucks County, PA. Regardless, gorgeous!
